Lamp Lighting 3D
For this project, the concept was to take the pre-modeled scene and create the atmosphere and lighting in an animated sequence that displays three different times of day. I decided on creating a early summer morning, overcast noon, and a deep midnight.

Final
I started from the image on the left first, where I got the yellow glow to a standard point which felt decent but not bright enough for a six am scene. I then shifted the lighting to add more oranges and yellow but wasn't getting the vibrancy I really wanted. By the last frame, I had a nice orange glow that wasn't too bright but added to that vibrant and soft lighting I was going for.
Iterations Noon

Take 3
With the overcast noon idea, it was difficult to replicate the lighting- my first frame was way too bright and just looked like it was white light which was unnatural. The next scene felt a little too dark as I was balancing blue, pink, and yellow lights together but it felt a lot closer. My last frame fell just in between the two with enough light to see without it being extremely dark, having white light, and achieved a very balanced mix.
Iterations Night
Night time was the most fun lighting so far- my goals was to create a lighting similar to a deep midnight or like a nostalgic dreamy kind of dark. Thus, I used a lot of purple shades, yellows, blues, and slight greens for around the lamp. The first frame was too bright. The second scene felt a lot better but had too much noise/pixelation. The last frame felt just right where you could see the bulb in the lamp for a further sense of realness.
Render Test
Test render 1
While this test render effectively achieved the ideal goal of getting three successful times of day into a rotating sequence, the video elements felt flat and not professional enough. Plus, I wanted to create some kind of fog or smoke to add to the atmosphere. I went back in to create this in After Effects and fix the text elements and other effects.

Finally, the project felt complete and had a much more professional look to its video elements, text, and general reel. The fog was the best new thing I added by creating the composition in After Effects with noise and blending layers to get a convincing mysterious night time scene. I was super content of how the new video looked.
